Why Hire Me as your Photographer?

I have a formal education in photography, lots of continued education over the years, and over ten years of experience photographing weddings. I know what stands the test of time. I know how to improvise when lighting conditions are difficult. I know how to see a space and find creative perspectives. I know my equipment well, so I am able to react quickly.

You don't have to work your schedule around me, I build my schedule around your day.  Over the years that I have been photographing weddings, I have come to love the documentary approach.  I like to come early and leave late, and tell the whole story of the wedding day.  I start by warming up with great scene setting shots and getting ready, and finish up by getting fun, real photos of everyone dancing once their guards are down.  I think the open timeline is an extremely valuable advantage to my photography package.

I have been told that my presence at a wedding is calming.  I care about people and I want to help make experiences the best they can be!  I am able to adapt to different situations easily, I am very low maintenance, and I listen to my clients. I have one goal, and that is give you a collection of images that shows how amazing your wedding day was.  I will do anything to help make this day go well for you so I can achieve this.

I, like most photographers, love beautiful natural lighting.  But the reality is, we don't always get it. So it is our responsibility to create it if we can't find it!  Flash, when used correctly and creatively, can be a super important tool in making the photo about what it's supposed to be about: the moment and the feeling.

I think it is important to be able to be able to step in and give direction and guidance when it's needed.  I can help get you at your best angle for the lighting during portraits, help organize groups so they look fantastic, and help you interact naturally for images that are genuine.  And I can do it quickly!   I also know when to step back, be quiet,  anticipate moments before they happen so I am there to document the realness. Playing with this balance is one of my favorite parts of photographing weddings.
